Mit "The Vultures Begin To Sing ..." liefert die Stuttgarter Rockband Kaéla ein erstaunliches Debüt ab. Die CD wurde von Markus Gumball, der schon mit den Guano Apes gearbeitet hat, produziert und zeigt wie Kaéla den Spagat zwischen Tradition und Innovation meistert.
Stuttgart - Die Bandmitglieder von Kaéla tragen graue, maßgeschneiderte Hemden mit Schulterklappen und Stehkragen. Sie sehen jung, fast naiv aus, wissen aber genau, was sie wollen. Am 27. April 2012 präsentierte die Band ihre neusten drei Lieder auf der EP "The Vultures Begin To Sing", aufgenommen von Markus Gumball aus Göttingen.
Durch die Zusammenarbeit mit dem Produzent, der schon mit den Guano Apes zusammengearbeitet hat und mit seiner Band Tamoto selbst Erfolge feierte, konnte die Stuttgarter Band ihre musikalischen Ideen auf den Punkt bringen. Interessant dabei ist das Spannungsfeld zwischen der offensichtlichen Affinität zu altbekannten Größen der Musikgeschichte, wie dem Elvis Zitat auf dem CD Cover oder den sorgsam gewählten Gitarrenklängen aus den 1950/60ern einerseits und dem spürbaren Innovationsdrang auf der anderen Seite. So beweisen Kaéla, dass man keine Retro-Band sein muss, um eine Rock'n'Roll Band zu sein, und dass auch technoide Synthesizer und digitale Samples zu einem Gitarrenstück gehören können. Die Spannung zwischen Analogem und Digitalem ist das Schaffensprinzip der Band.
Nach Erfolgen beim weltweiten Bandcontest Emergenza oder dem PLAY LIVE Wettbewerb und Konzerten in Berlin, Köln, Paris u.v.m. will Kaéla nun in Stuttgart das neue Werk präsentieren.

THE VULTURES BEGIN TO SING
On April, the 27th, Kaéla, one of Stuttgart's most interesting bands, released their Debut EP "The Vultures Begin To Sing". The CD was produced by Markus Gumball, who already worked with the Guano Apes, one of Germany's most successful Bands. Kaéla shows impressively, how to manage the balancing act between tradition and innovation.
They wear grey, tailored shirts with epaulettes and banded collars. They look young and determined. On 27th April 2012, Kaéla presented their new record to public.
With the help of Markus Gumball from Göttingen, they could focus their ideas and bring them to the point. Their work explores the space between the musical heritage of Rock'n'Roll and today' music scene. On the one hand, there's the image quote of Elvis on the CD cover or the warbling 1950's/60's guitar sounds, and on the other hand, there's a discernible will of innovation. Kaéla prove, that you don't have to be "Retro" to play Rock'n'Roll, and that synthesizers and digital samples can be part of a guitar song. To find a way between the analogue and digital world is their creative principal.
Kaéla participated successfully in the world's biggest band contest "Emergenza" or the PLAY LIVE contest of Stuttgart's Popbüro. They played gigs in e.g. Berlin, Cologne, Paris ... and are now ready, to present the new record in Stuttgart.
